Hey All,

Has anyone used these? I don't think there are too many places on the 185 to hang a burgee and I saw the clips that attatch to the stern light for the flag.

Yeah but are you going to keep your stern light in all the time...I am not a fan of the way the thing looks, I just can't do it :smt017

I would not say bad (ok I said bad but) it is just not something I would have up during the day. Ok yeah I just think it looks bad. I will take a picture and let you make the call.

Actually the pole is so tall that I can not get it up in the garage...maybe I just do not know style but I will not be attaching it to the stern light :smt009

It worked real well for the flag from SRO, here is a photo of the original mounting.

That's what I like about this group.... We start bouncing ideas around, come up with a solution, and get a picture of what we are talking about (thanks Midway)... Okay enough chatting, I have to go order my burgee

I got the ones from BW like you linked Greg... they worked well, however they wouldnt fit around the 'fat' part of the bimini pole. I had to use a zip tie on a burgee for the bottom tie (it looks like maybe thats what Midway used as well). I looked around for larger clips but couldnt find any. I actually used both clips for the 4th of July as I flew a large flag. It fit perfect between the top and bottom and the clips did not let it 'ride' up. They held well even at speed, the large flag and in our Oklahoma winds.

I used one that is similar to the one that Wesley pointed out from Iboats.................it slips into the light socket in the back. I still have mine if someone wants it. This is about the only picture I could find.

EDIT........Wesley has already contacted me about the flag pole so it's spoken for now.

Wesley... If you get the chance, could you measure the size of the back brace pole for the bimini? They have 1/2" and 3/4" burgee clips. Thanks mate.

I saw that Wesley... here is what I was talking about. There are several different types.

I have those as well as as some that semi-perm. affix that have spring clips. Those plastic ones are nice because you can remove them pretty easily.

However, I use them on the bimini support pole and have to make sure one is above a dimple (you know the little snap thingys) but the bottum one, like Larry said, will ride up while under way. The other with the spring clips is nice, and you can remove those too but the base it still on the pole but you put them where you want them and both stay put, so no moving around.

That said, I would never, ever put anything on the anchor light pole. The poles will bend pretty easy, but the primary issue it the base. They snap pretty easily as it is.

The other thing, I've had both the real nice embroidered flags and the cheaper nylon dyed flags and they all shred soon enough underway. I guess if you always kept your speed to <30-35 MPH they may last longer, but I shred them lie lettuce.

I'm looking for a pic of my Jolly Roger which has lasted better than my American flag or Texas Flag. It's using the plastic clips above. ONce I find it I'll come back and post.
