We just upgraded our stereo head, primary amp for the cockpit and speakers in our 2006 340.
The amp had an issue, it was an aftermarket automobile amp installed by the PO, so we changed out the entire system so we could get LED spkrs.
I have the Clarion Head Unit CMD4 along with the CD Changer (DCZ625), the Sirius Clarion SIR-CL1 tuner, the Helm and Stern remote units. The Clarion APX280M 2 channel Power Amp which was used for the subwoofer - which I also have. That is still in the boat as i am waiting for my new one to match the new system.
I also have 4 Polk MOMO midrange speaker with the separate tweeters and the crossover units. Tweeters also still in boat filling the holes until I need to remove them. Some of the spkr covers have cracks. Tweeters and sub no shown, still in the boat as mentioned above. Everything works. Most cables are included. Missing are the remote extensions as they were in the factory harness and the one that goes to the Sirius tuner from the radio head.

This head unit, CMD4, is plug and play with the older XMD models. Everything matches up. The CMD4 also has an auxiliary jack.

Thanks for the input Bennett.

I did the research and replaced the original Clarion XMD1 or 3 with the CMD4. Remote and head unit were very easy. With the aux jack and a Bluetooth receiver it works great for cheap. Want a nicer set up, but down the list of priorities.

Exactly how I'm handling it, it's a decent head unit

Willing to part the four Polk 6.5" and tweeters (when available) - would be shipping to Michigan?

The CMD4 is certainly a decent head. Got the new Fusion system for Fathers Day, so decided to upgrade the entire system. With having 3 different amps, the cabin, the cockpit and the separate cockpit sub high power draw. Now it is all handled by 1 JL Audio amp. Sounds great and only 40% of the power draw.

question: for the CD4. I have the CD5 in my 2007 340. Where are the amps located? Having and issue and are they:
1. under the sofa seat or
2. behind the main electrical panel

if they are behind the panel...how the hell do/did you get them out??

In our 2006, we had the polk momo system (SeaRays Upgrade it think) and the amps were under the sofa. These were for the cockpit only. As for the cabin, it has it own amp which is located in the electrical panel behind the DC breaker panel. I left that as it was and only changed out the cockpit amp and speakers. Ran all new rca cables and used the existing speaker wires after testing them for an shorts. Had to move ground wire supplying the amp from grounding bar in engine room to battery to cancel out some whining in the speakers.
