Hi all-

I am Peter Tacconelli I am in Rathdrum N. Idaho. I am newer to the boating world. My first boat was a 1977 Bayliner 2350 Nisqually w/ a small cabin and a little OMC 175. My family and I have spent the majority of our last two summers out on Lake Pend O'Rielle,ID. That little boat brought us many great times and a lot of great stories too.

Our family grew by one special little baby girl this winter bringing the family to Tacconelli7 My wife Trista and I + 4 boys and our little girl...so mommy encouraged me to upsize to a very special 88' Sea Ray 300 Sundancer.

I have wanted one for a long time. Now I have my summer project.

I started out asking questions here right away and everyone has been very helpful. I really appreciate all on this site for all your help. I am currently tearing into my boat so I am sure I will have a lot more to read here and learn. Thank you all for your support.

Yesterday tore out all carpet. Today, Allure teak floor going in.

Pete

Pete, PICTURES!! I may want some hints doing mine!! I think we should schedule an install day at Buttonhook! I've been looking at at that stuff for a long time. Chris (Scorpio) is thinking about putting it down over the carpet. Worst case, you remove it and pull the carpet up! How bad was it pulling the carpet out?

The carpet came up easy. I cut it under the fridge and the cabinets. I wanted to leave it under there as it was still in good shape. I will post close up pictures of the Allure flooring around the v-berth where it has the sharp transition up to the locker. I believe it is going to work very well.

We're on our way to Home Depot! We're going to take a look at the Allure product. I'm not sure WHEN we'll do it, but it might be a fun project. I hear getting the carpet up is the worst part! What are you going to do for the edge of the dinette step and steps down into the cabin? I'm wondering if some other bullnose will work for those places?

I am going to use bull nose material that is offered in the flooring section there at the depot. There are many different kinds of transition strips.

I wanted to float the floor in some areas to level it out. I remember seeing someone do it here already. Do you know what they used?

Holy crap! My sig. picture is huge! I just wanted a little pic. in there. I am trying to figure out how I did this.

Sig pic looks good!!

As for the float, I don't remember who did it, it might have been DWeaver but I'm not sure.

Peter, Very nice !!. and Congrats on the two new babies.
One being the boat and the other is your new daughter. :smt038

Thanks WW-

Oh yeah, My wife sez we need to put it up for sale so I will complete all of the projects I have going on with it. I thanked her for her support.:smt089

Has she lost her mind or what ??.
Never give up the boat !!. You'll need a place to stay. :smt043

Are you taking about selling the Bayliner ??

Oh no! She loves the Sea Ray. It is an on going joke with us, I am famous for starting little projects( classic cars, motorcycles, an RV... Our first home!) and waiting till I am ready to sell to finish.

I am knocking this project out though. I am now oiling all the teak and getting ready to install the new floor.

Finally no rain today. It has been raining since I got the boat home.
