Hi
On my 380 with 7.4's when I depress the port engine ignition switch there is an occosional delay before the enginge will crank, it is intermitent any thoughts...perhaps neutral saftey switch?..

BTW the enging was recently out and rebuilt the problem has occurred after the reinstalled

Thanks

Scott

Does it have a Solenoid? If so, spray it with some WD40 and see if that helps. Or, just get a new one. They are cheap and easy to replace.

Starter solenoids. The contact points are junk and erode quickly. The replacement ones are not internally grounded. You need to add a ground wire; a minor nuisance. Look on the top of the engine, flywheel side, just above cylinder 8.
