Bill I will call and drop your name and see if they can squeeze us in. We will have the kids along so not much bar hopping for us! Although my oldest daughter is almost 21. Can't believe how time flies. I can remember her in grade school on J Pier when we first got the boat... GEEZ!!!

One question, any restrictions on the harbor that I need to be aware of. We are picking the kids up from school on Friday and will be heading down to the boat. Short of any gale warnings or mechanical issues we should be over to the harbor late in the afternoon. I'll pack up some light snacks to share. Looking forward to meeting and sharing some drinks with you all. Have a safe cruise over.

Well countdown to the weekend. So I thought I would post up what I know for others headed to the inner harbor. BMC sent out an email with slip assignments. We are on K pier (K53). No way to move at all as BMC is sold out for the weekend. That is amazing. Hope they sized their electrical service to the Marina to handle max capacity!!!! LOL.

Attached is a map of the restricted area in case anyone needs it. Says that it is in effect from 1100 to 1700 9/11 to 9/14. I will be heading in 9/12 looks like I will be shooting to get there around 1700. Looks like there is a tiny area next to the terminals on the NW side to squeak by. Hopefully the Blue Angels will not be practicing late in the afternoon.

Going to be crazy in the harbor and around Baltimore this coming weekend. I read there is a fireworks rehearsel on 9/12 and the real fireworks show on 9/13...

Tom,

We are in slip K31 at BMC Lighthouse. We are meeting up with Sandy's Bottom at the mouth of Middle River at 8:15 Friday morning if you wanted to cruise down with us.

John

Thanks would love to!!! But the kids are in school on Friday and we won't be able to be down to the boat until around 3:30p. So we will be over on our own. Hopefully the Angels are not practicing and we can creep into the harbor through the restricted zone a bit earlier then 1700!!!

If you see coast guard aux boats racing to the river we probably set off the alarm!!!

See you guys on K pier!

L&G,

Unfortunately Game Time will have to cancel as my wife's mother went under Hospice care this morning and will probably pass to meet up with her husband and one son within as short time. The Admiral has said I could/should go without her but that is an invitation to walking the plank shortly after my return. We had been looking forward to this for some time. I hope you all have a great time and please post lots of pictures. If anyone is in need of a slip I will be cancelling in the morning and we were to stay at BMC Lighthouse Point Marina.

Have a great safe trip and no I do not think I will be around for the next 200[SUP]th[/SUP] year Celebration which would be the 400[SUP]th[/SUP]!

So sorry to hear that. We made it and well it's raining right now. Last night was wonderful and we cruised over with no issues. I took some pics and will have to post some once I get them off the camera!

Sent from my Galaxy S3

Well we all agreed on Saturday that we probably won't be seeing a fireworks show that extreme in our lives again. We had a great time around the harbor this weekend. It was great meeting up with folks from here and meeting new folks on the pier. I would have to say that the event was a great success for the city. Our family had a great time.

We headed out on Friday afternoon. I was expecting a bit of a wet ride over but by the time we headed out, it was really calm. We made it over to the Patapsco River, here we are heading into the river

Missed this ship heading out so we did not go under the center span. No need for 53' of water for us there was plenty one span over.

Made it into the slip, hooked up electric, water, cable and relaxed.

Saturday was rainy so we ate late and hung out. The rain let up and we went exploring Canton. Had a wonderful meal at "Mama's on the Half Shell". Mussels in Cajun butter was delicious. We got back to the boat around 2pm and turning on the VHF to see if we could get any word on the Angels. Around 3pm we go the word over the radio that the Angels were clear to fly!

The viewing anchorage was empty on Saturday! The crowds were there in Canton park to view the show.

The angels flew low and loud. They passed directly over the marina several times both single and in formation. Very LOUD and very neat!!!

There were so many beautiful boats at Lighthouse Point and Saturday it seemed like every slip holder and their friends were there. Is this the next L Class for Sea Ray?

Remember there is a "U" in Grumpy, but I don't know how you could be on this gorgeous yacht.

After the angels we headed up to Fells Point and saw some of the ships that were in port for the celebration

We headed out Sunday one day early. It was another great cruise back home. The Patapsco was of course a washing machine due to traffic so we cruised at about 20K and had a relaxing ride. Lots of sailboats out on the river as there was a great breeze.

This ship fired a cannon at us as we were leaving. Guess we sort of got int he way of the show..

The coast guard and baltimore marine police did an excellent job of controlling traffic. They were very nice on the radio and conducted good communications around the restricted area and air box.

Homeward bound. Upper range marker for the cut back home.

We were downtown (Inner Harbor Marina) from Thursday through Sunday. Saw Blue Angels 3x. And the fireworks show was the greatest ever, even involving the skyscrapers downtown.

Very, very well done event.

We were there at Inner Harbor East Marina Friday to Monday. Anybody that missed it, missed the show of a life time on the fireworks. The Angles flew every day and one thing that most did not see was the C 130 that flew over the Inner Harbor on Sunday at dark and dropped Navy Seals into the stadium. It was a great weekend. Thank you Baltimore. Job well done.
