Stains in gel coat

I finally made it to the boat today for the first time since I put it away last fall. Unfortunately it was stored under a large tree and there were leaves all over the place on the boat. The problem was that they left red stains all over the place, mostly in the non-skid area. I tried using star brite non skid cleaner a couple times. It made it better but still looks bad. I also tried rubbing it with an electric polisher using 3m super duty. I really had to lay into it to get it to come off everything but the non skid.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the non skid clean?

ON/OFF from WM should work well. It is oxalic acid and will remove rust stains as well. It is safe for gel coat... Don't get it on galvanized metal as it will remove the finish... Spray it on, let it sit a couple of minutes and either spray off with H2O or lightly scrub (wearing rubber or vinyl gloves)...

I just did my boat last week and use a product from a company called Aurora Marine. it has a cleaner and bleacher in it. The its called Boat Scrub also by the scrub mitt. I am telling you it works like majic and is not as abrasive as compound. on the textured deck use the mitt with water and the boat scrub. www.auroramarine.com

Do you have any "Soft Scrub" in the kitchen? That'll work, too.

I used Plastx clear plastic cleaner from Meguiars to clean rust spots off the side of the boat where the AC discharge is. It took a few applications but it took all the rust stain off.

I just had an issue with bottom paint stains on the non skid surfaces. Someone had recommended using lemon ammonia. I used it and it seemed to take everything away. Just put it on there and wash it with a rag. Make sure you hose it off good. Worked for me, hope it does for you if nothing else does.

I'm not even sure I've ever used ammonia on anything in my life, so who knew it worked so good?:smt038
