I don't know about the rest of you that have the removable transducers for depth and speed, but the stainless split rings they put on the heads of these things are cheap a$$ items that end up stretching and bending over time. Mine got so bad they would just pull off when trying to remove a transducer/speed wheel to clean it.

I found some 316 stainless split rings that are a little over 2" in diameter and are much better quality than the original ones. I got them from McMaster-Carr but their website is undergoing maintenance right now so I can't get to my order history... I'll post it later.

Here's a shot of the old ring removed and the new ring installed on one of the transducer plugs...

These things are like $10 for a pack of 5.... well worth the price.

If you don't have removable transducers, you probably think you wasted your time reading this thread. However, I think you could use them as nose or nipple rings as well.

You could really bling up those rings if you added a few gem stones or charms, kinda like a navel ring... or naval ring in this application...

You got to love McMaster, what a place. I have ordered all kinds of wacky stuff like this from them over the years. Prices are good and here in NJ the deliver anything the next day.

And yes, I have the exact same transducer and have found the OEM ring to be weak.
