Our '05 340 came from the factory with a painted AC condensation pan & within 6 months a stain from the shower sump & galley sink drain thru hull was visable. We run our AC 24/7 for at least 6 months a yr & flush lots of dirty dish water down the sink drain thus I never gave the hull stain much of a thought, assumed it was from the sink & cleaned the hull when needed. In retrospect our show sump was always rust colored too...dah.
In the Fall of '08 a detailer mentioned an '07 40DA he cleans weekly had a similar stain, upon investigation it was coming from a rusting AC pan & SR replaced with a SS pan under warranty. He suggested that I have my pan replaced also because it was only going to get worse. I contacted my dealer, they SR, SR agreed to supply a new SS pan & the dealer & I split the labor, $125 to me & now my shower sump & hull are clean.
Side note...I glued a piece of 1/2" clear plastic hose about 3/4" long into the AC cooling water exit thru hull to direct the stream farther away from the hull to minimize calcium buildup at the fitting.
