Engines
84 HAS TWIN 454
83 225 HAS 260 MERC.
Just bought a 1983 srv 225 cc, used to own a 79 srv 20. I havent seen many srv 225cc out on the water here on lake erie, are there many left out there.... the one i bought has 500 hours and is in mint shape.... thanks tobert

Robert,

Congrats and welcome!

Yes! there are a few of these left. I've seen several on Lake St. Clair. I happen to like mine (wish it had the 260 hp Merc.). Other than that, it handles most of what our little pond can throw at it. fairly easy to work on, pretty good on fuel. can carry 8 passengers (as you know).

If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them as best I can.

Gregg

I own the same boat. Anchored in Cape Cod Ma. Unfortunetly mine is far from mint, but I really love the boat. I am however, in process of restoration. Can you send me some photos of your boat? ngeller4@verizon.net
Thanks:smt038

Norman, I,ll send some over to you this weekend to your email, i also have a ton of spare parts from Sea Ray that i came across, that i can pass along to you if you need them....does yours have the merc 260..... robert

The boat came with the 228. I put a High Performance GM 350 in 2 years ago. Currently I am working on the electrical and replacing some of the interior. I am aiming for original design however, limited parts and funds will dictate that outcome. I look forward to seeing the pictures so that I can have something to go by. Do you have any interior parts that you want to sell?
Thanks again

I have a 1987 250 cc and love it, but seems like that there aren't that many cuddys around. If you find a good source for info on design, please let me know. I'm trying to restore mine to original.

I have a 1979 SRV 20 CC that is in the process of restoring. Interiors or the lack of them is my main problem. There are no photos available other than the ones in the sales brochure on the Sea Ray site.:smt100

Peter,

Send me your e-mail and i'll send you some pics. i just took some over the weekend and have 2 other members on the forum i have to send to also...... Robert.

The 225CC from then is one of my favorites. My folks bought a new one in '83, and of 10 the dealer (Brockway Marine) had to pick from, one had the 260 hp. so that's what they went with.

We had that boat all over OH, PA, MD, and Lake Erie. Great machine!

Kameroo,

thank you for the kind comments on the 225CC. I think we feel the same. Wish I had the 260!

Gregg

Realize this is an old thread, but I have just acquired an 83 Sea Ray SRV225 as well. I thought it was the CC but it appears to be an express cruiser after researched it more. The owner called it an overnighter but they did not make one that year.

It has the 260 engine as well.

Should be out on Lake St. Clair this weekend I hope.

I would like to see some pictures of the 225's interior as I am going to start redoing it.

So it has the raised windshield like a Sundancer but no aft cabin?

A friend of mine has an 1984 225CC for sale thats in exc. cond. with a 260 in it with low hrs. if anybody is interested. It's been in fresh clean torch lake all it's life.Very nice boat on a trailer...

Rob, looks great. its a twin to mine down to the seats and interior color except for the swim platform, all teak.
enjoy ,mark

I just acquired the same ride! I am in the process of researching parts for a spiff up. Overall she's in decent shape, but I'm taking the time to go through everything with a fine tooth comb and hopefully end up with a pristine vessel! As of now I have only dug into leaking side windows and water logged swim platform. i'm trying to find a source for the rubber window channel. Anyone know of a decent place to order parts for these boats from?

Thanks,

Overkill
Jamie
