Anyone know how to fix? Typical SeaStar Steering Hub.

Doesn’t make constant noise but annoying.

Thanks for any tips

Yea I am pretty sure that is the right p/n. I forgot which thread on here had the p/n. I think it sticks out slightly further, but much more solid and no squeaky... My wife gave me so much crap with the original.

Wow, good to know. Ordered the replacement (SeaStar Mfg # HA6523) yesterday. Is this the one you used?

Does the replacement stick out further than the OEM? Heard the replacement is much better and doesn't wobble either?

Thanks

Confirmed the SeaStar HA6523 is the replacement for my Tilt Helm HH5741

Does anyone know the nut size that holds the wheel in place?
Is there a trick to removing the wheel after you’ve removed the nut(15/16)? Thought the wheel would just slide off but feels like there is something else holding it.

There is a key and an angle shaft that’s it... should be able to tap it off or spray PB Blaster in there between the wheel hub and taper

If you can’t get it loose from a good wack you may have to use a puller.

Thanks, will give it another try tomorrow.

So glad to hear! One of the best, and easiest projects I've done thus far.

Is it possible to replace the cap inserts in the original steering wheel? Not ready to drop $500 on the wheel I want but the caps that hide the nut are pretty tired.
