A couple months into our SPX 21 OB with a 150 and it’s been great. It came with the standard 15 x 17 prop and I found a deal on a Enertia 14.5 x 17 which I threw on there last week. I gained a few mph and maybe a little hole shot but rpms seem low unless it’s trimmed up to almost unstable. I have 42mph with it trimmed up list enough to hear the wanted stop splashing off the hull. Rpms are at 5300ish WOT. I can trim up father and the hull comes out of the water more but handles like crap. 45.5MPH at 5600-5700 rpm.

I have vessel view mobile so speeds are GPS and RPM right off motor. My mechanic is not a prop guy and suggested to go down to a 15p prop. I don’t know if I like the sounds of that, I think I’d lose too much top end and be pushing the 5800 limit too easily.

Mostly this is river running and I have Bennet SLT trim tabs installed and the low setting. It’s made cornering a bit better and helped a ton when getting caught up in wakes of other boats. (It can get crowded on the river)

So I’m thinking of trying a 16p SS prop either 4 blade or enertia eco.. I don’t know and don’t have a way to test props without buying them.
Any suggestions?

I like the 4 blade nemesis as a replacement for the black max 3 blade. This is a pitch for pitch replacement. Also if your rivers are like mine (St Croix and Mississippi) then there is always the potential of debris floating down river to ding your prop. This doesn’t mean to avoid SS but something to think about.

We have quite a few dams that keep the big stuff out of the river. What size and pitch are you running on what HP and boat. The nemesis says for under 135hp but the hubs go up to 350 verado? I could go with the 17p 14” for 1/3 of the cost of my enertia

I have a SPX 190 with the 200 hp IO. Original prop was a 14.5x19 3 blade. Now running 14x19 nemesis 4 blade. The nemesis has two line one for engines under 135 hp and one for engines up to 300-350hp (I’d Have to check). Uses a Flo Troq II hub. Better hole shot. Almost the same top end and min change to WOT rpm.
