You guys are turning this into a “mines bigger than yours” contest! These hulls are looking great! I hope mine comes out that good!
I forgot my new bottle of Smoove Cloud at home... so I only had enough to do one side of the blue. I went to Walmart and they had Meguire Flagship so waxed the other side of the blue with that.... will be interesting to see the difference at the end of season
Every spring in the building there is always one chatter box... always running around talking to everyone. This year a harmless nice guy... So he is telling me ..he and his buddy are moving out of the building April 1st. He is 3 boats behind me and I am at least 7 boats from the door. This same gong show happened last year where someone behind me wanted out and I wasn’t ready. So when I was ready the weather turned cold. I go up to get the boat out and they said the guy behind you changed his mind... yikes really? So with this guy running around yelling the sky is falling. I go to service today and say what’s up with launch. Rumors are you are pulling boats out behind me early. Service coordinator says no ...you are coming out at the end of April. I said what about chatter box?.... she says he hasn’t even talked to me. Why do we have to go thru storage drama every flipping year. Do you guys go thru this ?
My yard will move boats around to accommodate early launchers, but keep us inside the building until our launch date.
You lucky. When I pulled in November they said pick a launch date so I said 4/1. Big mistake. Huge. They stack by launch date, going in ready or not. Now 3/5 and no where ready, need manifolds risers, lots of work didn’t plan on. So screwed
maybe someday I’ll move indoors when the only get ready task is some cleaning and polishing but I’ve always been outdoors and I like it for that reason. I’ve been at the boat once a week since October and the yard only wants 1 day notice for splash because no one blocks each other in.
Special thanks to Blueone for the Smoove suggestion. Using the bubblegum followed up with the whitecloud. Pretty amazing stuff and pretty easy to work with...
Fantastic shine. I am current using Meguiars flagship, but always wonder if there is something better. What type of boat soap do you use?
Good luck with your polishing I say it every year it’s the only time that you wish you had a smaller boat when your cleaning it. And indoor non heated storage I payed around 2200 for a 40 footer
This will remove hard water spots very very easily make sure it’s white vinegar and wipe down boat with water after and dry with towel works amazing
@Bottom Line I'll have to check. But I can tell you it is not a name brand or a name tied to polishing products, like Meguiar's. It is cheap, $20/gallon, flourescent pink soap. Jaybeaux
For you users of Smoove....how do you think it holds up? I am considering trying it. I have been using Meguiars, and think I have a good shine, but think it never lasts long enough (but that may be with all waxes).
Nice pic.... I have used it for 3 yrs and I am happy with smoove... I have used mequiars too... I would say Smoove is slightly better for lasting.... my best year is when I waxed the blue half way thru the year with smoove...I am in fresh water.
Bubble gum then white cloud.... I don’t like their compound.... my blue hull is a bear. Polish and wax/polymer just protects the surface you created by compounding... I tried this stuff this year CutMax and I was quite impressed...I used a 3M white cut pad....and it did a nice job
I am considering this same 2 step process on my 330 DA but Meguiars discourages using the Flagship Wax over a Cleaner Wax. Did you use anything before these 2 Products? Was it the M50(blue bottle) cleaner wax followed by the FlagshipM63 Premium Wax? How did you apply the products, polisher or by hand? Thanks
1. Cleaner Wax: https://www.westmarine.com/buy/meguiars--flagship-premium-cleaner-wax--11006871?recordNum=4 Applied by rotary. Black bottle. 2. Meguiar's Flagship Premium Marine Wax; applied by hand, paste wax.
