Spring Polishing has begun

Did they plastic the boat behind you off? I would think they would at least require it be tented. I'm looking to have mine cut and buffed and the guy I use tents it and they said no to that. Absolutely no sanding but painting wasn't an issue.
No that pic was 4 hours in.... my problem is our contract says no painting no sanding.... I would be fine if the contract said ...”yes sanding is allowed if it’s dustless and the boat with in 10’ in front of you is waxing his boat”.... that would be okay with me.... the building would be empty but so be it...it’s spelled out

That's pretty crazy to be honest. Tented I'd be OK with but not just open air. Be glad it's that far away- I need to replace my anchor rope with chain and my anchor is literally 3" from the transom on the boat in front of me and no less than 12" off the deck- guess I'll have to wait until he's launched or I'm in the slip. Nice guy and he's buffing his boat as well and said he would be sure to wipe off anything that got on mine. I wasn't brave enough to ask if it was OK for me to "drop anchor" on his deck so I could change my rope LOL.

The last place I winter stored at ...it was explicit if you did any kind of bottom work you needed to seal it or skirt it.... I was fine with that. at least you knew that going in
The boat is only that far behind me because they screwed me last year where I couldn’t raise my engine hatch...so I made them back off this year

I’m going to agree with you. I’m very easy to get along with, but a contract is a contract, and rules are rules. Why waste the paper, if the words of the contract are worthless? I have no problem going along with “set” rules as I expect others to do the same.

Where are you storing? There are some options in Sandusky with better hours, as well as Catawba Mini-Storage, which offers key fob access.

I am very interested in something new next winter. If you don’t mind PM me some alternative options or post them

Blue how much time will you have in doing your whole boat? compound polish wax
No doubt the shine is very good.

And the shit show continues with paint... the fumes are awful. I am going to pack up.... this isn’t over... I am really upset but helpless without my laptop

That friggin' blows Blueone.....and you know how it typically works..... if you were to do what they were doing, you'd be asked to stop.

I went today to wax after being inspired by this thread and they did some reshuffling of the boats since my last trip. Good thing I already did this side.

never heard of washing with vinegar and water, What does that do?
The idea behind it is to dissolve the hard water spots...for the most part it does a good job. With my blue hull any bump or step in the hull causes hard water spots to form...they don’t compound out easily...by dissolving or softening them it makes compounding a bit quicker

Man that's tight. I've dealt with "sub-optimal" in winter storage several times but that's downright crazy.

It’s hard to tell... I still have a ton of emails going back and forth and no WiFi or cell service in the building so constantly going outside to the car. best guess is 6 hours on the hard top compound, polish and two coats of wax... but I really struggled with the collinite 885. The Blue I have probably 12 hours into both sides and the transom just on compounding alone but I really took my time and went back over it a number of times in certain spots.

I'm wrapping up my pot of coffee now and headed to my boat for the fifth Saturday so far this winter. Three of my trips so far have been cleaning/waxing the hull sides and gunnels/transom. I haven't even started on my topside yet :)

To go around the sides with vinegar, then water, then polish, then wax...I bet 12 hours is about what I'd estimate too. I can typically make it two times around before I crack open a beer and start slowly cleaning up for the day.
