Sport 195 thread

You are awesome!! If you would like a pair of the coolers for the aft seat sent out at the price they will cost me to have made by a dear friend, then please let me know. They are going to cost about $200 USD but I believe I could get you two for the price of one if you like.
Payment will be to the username LazyDave whom I am purchasing things through, so this will mean you do not need to do a international transaction.
I am yet to ask Dennis but I will ask him if he will accept payment directly from you as a favour to me and I will send them out when ready in a couple of weeks. I think I could get away with sending yours first before payment so you feel secure and nobody but me is responsible for them not arriving.
Seeing these are around $335 in the USA by the manufacturer now I think you will be happy with this price. I was lucky enough to buy the last one for approx $100 plus $90 shipping, from the old stock and am using this to make molds for all 185/195 users that require them. i know most people with boats before 2009 do not have them.

Anyway if you decide you want a couple PM your address and I will get them sent but you will have to pay $200 upon arrival.

SIDENOTE: All others wanting these will be required to pay upfront as my friend is a legit fiberglass/plastics business and I am doing one person a favour here as he did me. i can not be responsible for another mans business and payments and shipping as I do not have the money to cover multiple peoples orders.

My three bow cushions are all the exact same size, although the storage hole for the front center one is completely different cutout than the two on the sides.
If you ever find yourself in a position where you need quick cash, I would buy your bow and cockpit cover for very good money, enough for you to buy brand new ones anyway.

Thanks for the offer, but my boat has both coolers and they are both in great shape!

Oh Nice! Lucky guy. I can not wait to ge them. Sorry I read your PM before this message so ignore my offer of a swap.

I do hope we can sort the other out though

I'm glad to see that this thread is still alive!!! I haven't posted in quite some time, but, I'm still around!!! Lots of work, kid, ya'll know the drill!!! I still own my 195, taken it out I believe three or four times since our daughter was born.. She's five now!!! But, she's at that age where things are getting pretty awesome!!! Not like they weren't before, but now she's understanding a little bit about how things work!!! Moving the boat, actually to another storage, closer to the house... This will make accessing it a little easier for us to take out for the early evenings.... I'm pretty excited about the whole thing!!! I'll probably get back to posting regularly again as well!!!

Keep the thread going...

Merge360. I enjoyed looking at you photo album. That's some stereo set up you have. And the LEDs must look incredible at night. Brian

Bridog...

Thanks for the compliments!!! I haven't updated that album in quite some time.... I've since added a Promariner ProSport onboard battery charger, stainless steel cupholders with acrylic LED rings and some other do-dads here and there!!! Need to update that album with the new additions!!!!

How hard was it to get the plastic cupholders out? Are there any tricks to it? I've thought about upgrading mine to SS, but I don't see any obvious way to remove the plastic ones.

I replaced mine last year. The old ones are just held in with caulking, I used a plastic putty knife to work them loose - takes a little cleanup before you can put the new ones in. I found the SS ones on Amazon, they had a foam adhesive seal around the lip so they just stuck right in, no caulk. Really dressed things up.

Also added a mid ship cleat this weekend. After 1999 the 185 came with them, but mine did not.

Hi Merge. Those are some great additions you've made to your 195. I'm particularly interested in the transom stereo remote you installed. I've bought the same remote and I'm planning on installing it on my 2007 185 sport, which is very similar to your 195. I was planning to locate it between the ski tow eye and the grab handle. My concern has been the slight curve that the transom has. I'm worried about how the remote would fit on this curved surface. Just curious if you could shed any light with your install? Is it close enough to not worry about? I though I may be able to "file" the curve into the bezel of the remote for a flush fit. Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but want to be sure before a poke a big hole in my boat. Thanks.

Steve195... I see that your question was already answered.... Those plastic cup holders just come straight up, with a little coaxing... Clean up the little bit of adhesive that was left behind, slide in the SS cup holder.... BAM!!! Instant visual upgrade!!! Changes the look of the interior of the boat, just like BillK stated!!!

hblock72... Yes sir, you're WAY overthinking the remote on the transom project!!! When doing mine, the curvature of the transom not once came to mind, the remote is small enough that the curve was irrelevant... Mine also came with a rubber gasket, that may take up some of the gap, if any... I also added an acrylic LED ring at mine... Again, the curve is a non-issue... As far as cutting a hole in the boat, this one was super easy for me to do.... I had already conquered that fear when cutting holes for my bow speakers, interior remote hole near the steering wheel and the two VERY LARGE HOLES for the coolers beneath the bench seating!!! Those were stressful!!!! A small radio remote hole on the exterior of the boat??? Cake!!!

I noticed you're considering putting your remote between the ski tow eye and the grab handle.... I chose against this option simply because of the foot traffic on and off the back of the boat... Although small and out of the way, I didn't want the remote to get kicked or stepped on... I chose the port side of the transom for my remote install... Just my suggestion...

Merge: Thanks for the feedback. Makes me feel much better. I see your point on the remote location, but I wanted it close to the grab handle. My main reason for adding the remote is to be able to adjust volume while in the water, so I wanted to be able to stand on the bottom of the boarding ladder and reach up to adjust the volume controls (holding onto the grab handle if needed). I'm also planning two other additions: A 12v socket (cigarette lighter type), which I plan to put to the left of the ski tow eye, mirroring the location of the stereo remote. I'm adding this for two reasons 1) to plug in my 12v air pump when I'm inflating tubes. I always end up standing on the platform and inflating the tube on the sun pad 2) when parked in my garage, I'll use this plug to hook up the battery tender I always use when the boat is not in use. The 3rd thing I plan to add is a remote trim switch. Not sure on location yet but likely on the outer port side of the transom somewhere. Thanks again.

Any of you ever had issues with the engine alarm? Mine seems to go off every other time i use the boat. Oil Pressure and temp are fine, and boat runs great.

Love my new toy!

Have you checked your drive lube level? That's the third way your alarm can go off. Been there before!

The only way to make sure your engine does not suffer is to plug it into the diagnostics and see what the engine warning code is that is coming up.

However, if you are going full throttle and you are full trim then your engine alarm could be going off which i believe is either that it is not getting enough water or the prop is leaving the water and spinning up.
I know that every now and then if i am fully trimmed and at WOT but then i trim a little too much the alarm goes off and this stops going off the second i nudge the trim down a bit.

If you are not having alarm go off for this reason then I would plug it into diagnostics and see what the engine fault reading is.

Looks like I was trimmed to high, had no issues today, and the drive lube is good.

Thank you both for the assistance!
