ahhhhhhhhhh....
Finally. Launched about 12:00 today. Party sunny, 65 deg, moderate wind, a little chop. Conditions were great. Boat ran better than it did all last season. Must be the newly applied bottom paint
It gets even better... when we got to the yard, my boat was on the fork lift getting the fuel topped off (still can't figure that out - it was written on my ticket, but i never requested it) and had yet to receive its courtesy wash... so while we were waiting my wife and I took a stroll down the dock to look at the brand new 60 Sundancer that was being delivered today... wow. What a beautiful boat. So I told her we ought to look at a 310 while we were there if they had one. I had seen it reviewed in Motor Boating Magazine and just wanted to see the layout. Asked the guy washing my boat and he point to the far side of the lot and said "maybe one of those two over there." So we meandered over and they were both 340's. But there was a 280 right there with the camper slightly open so we hopped on to check it out. I am a salesman by trade, but I didn't have to sell a thing. She was in love with it. She was ready to go inside and work out a deal... after telling her that our boat was washed and ready to launch, I was able to drag her away. She is convinced that she needs to go find a job when my daughter starts kindergarden in the fall, just so we can jump up a few sizes. What a glorious day! The 45 minute trip to my marina was uneventful. It was such an awesome feeling to be back on the water. Found our way to our new slip. A bit tricky... it is wedged into a corner so it will be a bit difficult on windy days. Got her all tied up and looking forward to a great day tomorrow!! :smt038
