Got in today. Beautiful day for launching. Had a long no wake creek after the launch and after hitting the main channel, the marina was directly across. So once up on plane, it was time to come down. But it was still fun. Got things tied up, put canvas up and got a few things put away.

My depthfinder doesnt work, and my stern light is on all the time when the ignition is on so have to check those. Hopefully this weekend will provide some boat time. Lots of cleaning to do!

Isn't spring time great!!! :)

Spring time is wonderful! Just spent my first night aboard in the rain. Slept in the aft bunk and froze since I didnt turn the heat on. Got cramps in both legs trying to get out of bed, but once I had a cup of bold strength coffee and got a sweatshirt on, it was great again. Think I'll switch to the v berth.

Took the dog out and then drank two cups of coffee, while the heater brought things up to speed. Remembered once again (my boating hiatus was 15 years) that coffee onboard an old boat in the rain is still better than coffee at home.

I know. Each slip has a 16’ wide strip about 150’ deep to the road.

We have 10 docks in a row, all friends and family with 2 large gazebos, an outdoor kitchen and 2 fire pits.

Our “yard” is bigger than many people have at home.

We love it and it’s my 10th year here.

Went for my first real ride today since launching. Stopped and got 50 gallons of gas first. Seemed pretty slow getting up on plane. 2 people and 1 dog aboard. With tabs down and drive down, I maxed about 4000 rpm. Once up, playing with the tabs and trimming up got me 4200 rpm, 30 mph. I was happy with the speed but thought the rpms wouldve been higher.

Its a 90 270 Sundancer, 7.4 single prop

Well finally in after a fiasco last week. Went down last Wednesday and backed the boat in and it wouldn't start. Had started it a few times at home and even about 1 hour before we backed it down the ramp. Had trouble cranking it back up and started to strip the shaft on the trailer winch (brand new Venture with a Fulton winch). Get it on the trailer and start heading back home and wife says the bimini looks odd. Pulled over and the one fitting that attaches to the windshield frame came undone and the brand new bimini was sort of twisted and bent one of the clamps. Got it back on and got home then couldn't back up the driveway cause my trailer brakes were locked. So it was a fun day...lol. So siphoned 20 gallons of fuel out of the boat until we were not getting and water out then changed the separator. Found a wire on the trailer that had been tightened and smashed between the washer and frame on our brand new Venture trailer. Loosened it up and the wire came out in 2 pieces. Fixed that. Started the boat every day the last few days. Today went perfect. Everything worked as it should have. Still need to figure out why my fuel gauge isn't working now but everything else was good. Need to order a new input shaft for the trailer winch tonight. The small gear spins on the shaft when you crank the handle. It isn't quite to the point of spinning but real close.
Just brought the trailer home and grabbed lunch then heading back down to finish setting everything up at the dock.

Not exactly splash 2019 but maybe this counts for something. Our boat stays in the water year round aside from annual haul out. And so I just completed all of the out of water maintenance and launched this morning. Polished and waxed hull below rub rail, new bottom paint, new zincs, shaft alignment and a shaft seal.

She’s all shiny and ready for the season. Here’s some photos of her going back in. Now I just need to get the inside looking as good as the outside:

Well went in Memorial Day and had horrible weather since then. Fast currents and debris everywhere. Finally made it out today for a little ride. Was out about an hour. Wind was pretty tough but other than that it was good. Plan to go out tomorrow too
