Awesome! I like green balls :smt001

I tried the dryer sheets....didn't work too well, went through a lot of them.

Tried a spider spray, it just seemed to piss them off!!

Tried the "No Pest Strips" and no more spiders. I just hang one of them from the cockpit overhead. They really work great.:smt001

Where do you put them for outside the boat? Hang them from the railings? I'm serious. I have very little problem inside the cabin, a little in the cockpit, but huge outside the boat.

TIA.

Possibly this new starbrite product might work "spider away" Not sure if it would be a environmentally safe product, however....comments? It is a weak solution of acetic acid designed to be safe on gel coats etc. and keeps spiders from returning....might be worth a try!..... Tom

In the feb. issue of boating mag., on page30 there is a new product from starbrite called spider away. the write-up sounds good, I just read this yesterday.

I saw that too and was going to post it on here. They also have spider and bird poop stain remover, I doubt it will touch my spider stains.

When I first started using them, I hung a single NO PEST STRIP in the middle of the cabin, over a large paper plate, just in case it drips. It didn't drip at all, so I continue to hang the replacements, sans the paper plates.

In the cockpit, I hang the strip just aft of the captain's/admiral's bench, center-line. I use plastic tie-wraps for hanging them up. They are stronger than the flimsy plastic hooks that come with them.

The spiders still congregate outside the canvas and on the swim platform, but other than that...the strips continue to work like a charm.

Good luck !!

Curiousity got the best of me...go figure....I bought a bottle of it so I could see what the active ingredient were. Upon sniffing the bottle, there is a slight escence of pepermint. The bottle notes an active ingredient is 2.5% pepermint oil and an inert glacial acetic acid. What is that?

This stuff doesn't kill, it just chases them away from their nests. It just chases them off to your slip neighbor. I'm going to give it a try on my tie off lines in the slip during the summer.

If for nothing else, you can use it as a breath freshener.

I second the no pest strips, they work great! We keep a large ziplock bag on the boat, and put it in there when we are on the boat, and back out it comes when we leave for the day.

After reading this post I started using the no pest strip this spring after I started to see spiders... I hang it on the steering wheel with a velcro strip and put it in the ziplock bag when using the boat....I have not had a problem since on the boat.

I had another problem up where the ceiling meets the walls in the garage and hung one up against the wall over the garage door and again no spiders and this is a 3 car garage and 12 foot ceilings

This was a great idea.... Thanks
