I understand that there is a hole on the leading edge of the outdrive for the speedometer. Does anyone know specifically where this hole is located? I'd love to see it in a photo or on a diagram of some sort. I understand how to clean it out by hand w/ a drill bit, I just have to find it first. And, by the way, the boat is in the water.

Thank you in advance.

Start at the leading edge of the "torpedo". Work your way up a few inches. It's about 1/8" diameter. It's the only one there.

If its just clogged w/ mud, try a .177 caliber bronze gun cleaning brush. Works for me. If you hit a log (like we sometimes do on the Mississippi) you'll have to use a drill bit but I don't know how you'll do that in the water. When using a long drill bit, I like to have someone watching to ensure that I don't bend the thing and break it off. That's a minor disaster. Not as big as health care, but a disaster just the same.

Thanks so much for the replies. Hopefully I'll get it cleaned out this weekend. Y'all have a great Labor Day Holiday!
