Would anyone happen to know where I can go to get the specs on older 24 & 26 ft Sundancer models ?

I was looking for fuel consumption, weights, etc.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

SeaRay.com; service;archives............not all boats have all information avaiable but they have most models.

Fuel consumption and performance data is not available unless you can get to a dealer who has old product sales manuals that were given to sales people. The sales manuals were not distributed to the public or customers. The other source for performance data is right here @ CSR...ask previous and current owners of the boat you are interested in.

The early 80's 260 Sundancers were listed as weighing 5200 pounds. They carry 100 gallons of fuel and will get 2-2.5 mpg at cruising speeds. The most common motor is a single 350 Merc. They are a bit under powered this way, but a big block/bravo III conversion is relatively easy. This can be an expensive conversion, but the performance benefits are very significant.

I'd stay very far away from an OMC (big time reliability problems), and would avoid the twin 4 bangers (noisy, tight bilge, and expensive to maintain).

I would also lean toward a 260 over a 240. They are about the same to trailer, use about the same fuel, very close in cost, etc., but the size difference and ride quality are noticeably better on the 260.
