So I'm slipped in Babylon and me and my wife are looking for some other places to go and hang out or things to do out on the water. We always seem to end up at Kismet or Ocean Beach. Thanks.

Nautical Mile in Freeport has some resturants and bars you can go to... Pops in Island Park... But that and fire island is all we got :) Some nice coves to spend the day... Hemlock and Zachs are both nice ways to spend a day too

Farther out east you have Davis Park & Watch Hill marinas on Fire Island. Both have pros & cons. Both have restaurants.
Watch Hill:
It has a tiki Bar, and snack bar as well. Bathrooms are not ideal & no hot water in them. Plus the mosquitos & green flies can wreak havoc on you at times but the marina is very protected.
Davis Park:
Has a big Bar adjacent to the restaurant which are the only Ocean front ones on Fire Island. There is usually a decent band on Sunday afternoons outside the bar. The insects are better than Watch Hill but the marina offers little in the way of protection. Any northern component wind & you will be rocking & rolling. The bathrooms are similar to Watch Hill.

Thanks where and and how do I find these coves?

Take a run down the state channel and head west....

You will pass Hemlock Cove... Great place to spend the day... Keep going and eventually you will hit Zachs bay (right outside jones beach theater... If the wind is blowing the right way you can hear the concerts clean)

There is tobay if you can finagle yourself into being a town of oyster bay resident... I think town of Babylon residents can go to Gilgo beach or on of the others ones on jones beach island...

We're from town of Hempstead and all we got is the boat basin by the inlet heading out to jones..

Shame on you. I went by Pops the other day ... Whats the deal with docking ? Are all the slips directly in front for pops. The place to the left looks like a Marina ?

Rob

Correct... Marina on one side and docking for the resturant on the other... All the open slips are for the restaurant free of charge... Just gotta take care of the dock kid :)

We were there Sunday for a little while... Place starts to get busy around 3 when the band starts...

There are also a few resturants you can venture to.. SALT in Merrick has 10-15 slips that you can use if you go eat there and the food is great...

Also heard some good things about Nicki's on the Bay in Bayshore... Think there is a place in Lindenhurst by marine Max too

Just a couple of coves to Google that I enjoy. As stated hemlock (hemstock is July 23rd if your into the party seen) and zacks bay. Then you can Google garbage cove (just a name nothing garbage about it) sore thumb has the cleanest water. It's just off of fire island inlet . On fire island you have flynns , sailors haven kiss met, Seaview watch hill, Davis park, cherry groove (don't be scared is actually a really good time) ocean beach, Atlantique, . North side of the gsb you have the roof top bar in lindenhurst right next to marine max, nikkis in Bayshore theta also a very large cove very well protected in Bayshore but can't think of the name. In point lookout yoy have buoy bar. In freeport you have short beach which has access to the ocean beaches. Sorry if some were repetitive just Racking my brain

I guess my screen name is confusing.. But Shane is my son..

And no I'm not at Blue Water, however I live right by there... We keep her at Jones Inlet Marina in Freeport.. Was their first customer there back when I had my 260... And I love it there.. Don't want to leave.. Although it would be nice to be able to walk to the boat again..
