Well my yacht club has gone and done it. To be PC we have renamed the yacht clubs Chrismas party. It is now called The Commordors Ball.
We use to all dress up and go to a nice resturants banquit hall with a cash bar. Now it's in a cheap motels conference room, byob and all wearing jeans. Most members have rooms at the motel so they can drink before the party and afterwards stumble back to their rooms dragging empty coolers. There isn't even a Christmas Tree anymore!

I think it is time to find a less PC boat club.

Find a new Commodore! If it's a nice marina, replace the management. I belong to a boat club with 55 docking members and we have elections, Mike.

I agree. If the rest of the members feel the same way you do, have one of them run for Commodore next time. It may be hard to find someone who's willing to run though. It might be easier to get your executive board (or whatever you might call it) to make the changes.

The club I belong to has a Commodore's Ball and a Christmas Party. Or, maybe I should say "used to have a Commodore's Ball". Apathy is the only thing our club is good at anymore. It seems there is one female (wife of a member) who has taken it upon herself to be the "Queen of the Club". She's the most negative person I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. Her negativity has caused most/many members to not even want to be around her or the club any more. As an example, our club used to have a spring and fall cruise up the Snake River to a nice Corps of Engineers park. We did it for years, but it was canx'd last spring and this fall because nobody wanted to go. We also used to have Friday BBQ's that were real popular. We'd get 15-20 couples showing up every Friday. Now it's 2-3 couples.

Sad how one loud, obnoxious, negative beatch can cause the downfall of a once very active organization.

We have a Board of 15 and it's very effective dealing with sour pusses.....we don't invite them to our on water outings! The formal stuff is harder to weed them out.
