Thanks, Darren. We moved up from a 240 Weekender this year and couldn't be happier. It's very clean for it's age with the exception of the carpet on the cabin floor. We ended up getting it for $10,000 less than the original asking price, and upon picking it up we found out the engines had 40 hours on them.

Thanks, and yes that's my 12 y.o. son. He loves watching the radar when we leave early in the dark and the resposibility of piloting out on the lake. I have 3 boys and 2 girls that all love fishing as much as my wife and I do. I never thought I'd get a Sundancer considering salmon fishing is why we have a boat this size, but the boating lifestyle hit us and we compromised between fishing and comfort. I'd love to get something newer, but with 5 kids, the budget doesn't allow it for now, and the '82 is actually very clean.
I forgot to mention. The fishing pictures are from my 15 year old's only birthday request every year: A fishing trip with his friends. This year we stayed on the boat at the slip and made an overnighter out of it. When no-one else wants to go, my youngest daughter (10) always wants to go fishing!
Hey jarhead, great pics on THE LAKE as you mentioned which is where? it would make your post more interesting if we all knew where you do your boating. please put your location in your sig. as i think all members should. be safe!
p.s. thank you ever so much for your service to our great country!!!
I'm glad my kids and my wife love the boat as much as I do. just the smile on my kids faces when they are fighting a salmon is priceless. boating and fishing are great family hobbies!
Thanks for the pics. Much needed at this time of the year with a foot of snow on the ground. Nothing quite like Lake Michigan fishing. I also like the classic lines of your 270.
Jarhead, could you please tell me one thing? How did Marines get the name "Jarhead"? Coming from a family of Marines - my Dad was a Sgt and my Unk was a Drill Sgt career man, but both are dead now - I have always wondered that. If you could enlighten me, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Jackie, Captains John and Andy were at a seafood tavern on the Milwaukee river last year for an appearance and decided they'd rather hang out on our boats than at the bar. It was a great time until the bar manager yelled at us for hogging the celebrities(their choice). He didn't have much to say after I asked him how many of the people there to see them were actually regular patrons as we were and would never spend money there without the Hillstrand brothers. And I emphasize WERE regular patrons.
