Lake Belton is a fairly good sized lake and never really that crowded. We love it. Good Hybrid Bass if you like fishing. The Marina (Franks) is literally 3 minutes from the house.

Having the marina so close has really been a huge advantage and has me spoiled alright. In fact my son and I go down daily to check on everything and "mess with something." I did not think how big of a convenience that would be when I was shopping for a boat and marina home. Now, I would not trade it for anything.:thumbsup:

As in Cooperas Cove? Now I now what to do next time I am stuck at Fort Hood... Go to Belton... I get tired of the fast food and nothing to do in Killeen, Tx...

Fort Hood borders the western side of Lake Belton. The Lake is no more than fifteen minutes from Killeen/Ft. Hood area. Franks Marina is down by the Damn(off hwy 439) and so is Dead Fish Grill. The Dead fish is a fun place to hang out for drinks, live music, and so-so food. Nice view of the lake. They have a tradition to shoot a little cannon off every evening at sunset. Next time you are stuck with nothing to do in Killeen, head on out to the Dead Fish or Franks Marina. You can also fish at the Marina. My boat is side-docked out in front of the gas pumps, come on by and say hi!!! It is a good fishing lake and never really crowded, except July 4. They will put on a heck of a firework show on the lake for the boats.

Hope to see you on the lake. My boat name is Panacea and we usually cruise the main lake area up to BLORA and the Damn, but sometimes will head up towards the 36 bridge. Come say hi. What color is your Pachanga? Love that style of Sea Ray.

Yup, I live in Copperas Cove. I am have just taken on the Fort Hood slang and use just the Cove part lol.
I will definitely stop and say hi when I get down there. Right now I am in Rhode Island wit her, but will be trailering her back to Hood with me. Oh and my Pachanga is White/Red. The toned down color scheme without 5 gelcoat colors, just the graphics.

If you are in Cove for the 4th, check out the Ft. Hood fireworks. They put on a good show. Also, get ready for some good high school football in the fall. The Cove Bulldogs are for real!!!! Our hunting lease is in Pidcoke so we go through Cove all the time.
