Solomon's Island Getaway

Anybody heading to Clarks Landing getaway this weekend to Solomon's Island? The Admiral and I thought we would head down Friday afternoon. The weather looks good so we just signed up. We went down 2 years ago and had a great time. Seafood was great and we had a good time just walking around and talking to the locals. Kinda reminded me of Tilghman Island (where I grew up). Is it close enough to dink over to Calvert Cliffs to hunt for shark's teeth? Got an 8' dinghy with a 6hp 4 stoke.

You'll pass by Calvert Cliffs on you're way to Solomon's. They are just outside the mouth of the Patuxent. Even though Solomon's is my neck of the woods, I've never been to the cliffs. Not sure what is protected there or where you can or can't be on the beach.

Thanks Tom. Didn't know it was (or could be) a protected area. I'll do some research...

I would say it would be quite a hike to the cliffs from the island. I would not try it in my 8' inflatable!

It is quite a distance, out in the Bay. I'm also not sure if you can beach a small boat there. You would also have to avoid the restricted areas at the gas docks and by the power plant.
