yesterday someone made me a cash offer on my 76 srv 240 and i was fairly motivated to sell her. there was something about this boat that i just didn't like. it was in very nice shape and got lots of compliments but i just felt uneasy when i took it out. at this point im looking for a replacement and have my eye on a 1980 srv 270 sedan bridge. but i also found a 30' Cruisers flybridge that i liked. someone also has a twin engined bayliner contessa that caught my eye (basically a fancier version of the ciera 2550 i used to have). does anyone on here have any opinions on a 1979 cruisers villa vee or cruisers in general. i want to stay with searay but the cruisers has inboards and that is very appealing to me.

Good luck with your search. Do you care to give us any insight as to specifically what made you uneasy in that boat? Was it not mechanically sound, were you not familiar with the mechanics of the boat, was it just too small, etc.? This might help with some opinions or suggestions from others on your next boat.

the boat was mechanically sound and rock solid. but it was significantly under powered and way smaller that i thought it would be. also there was just something eery about it that i just did not like, call me crazy but thats what i thought. i deffinatly want this sedan bridge i have been looking at but not the guy is having second thoughts about selling it. i deffinatly want to stay in the sea ray family, but am open to other options

It was a great feeling to sell my boat. It was a pain in the ass finding the right boat to buy. Brokers and individuals have no problem being deceitful. Pictures turned out to be old and not representative to the actual condition. One broker, knowing our standards and what we were looking for, said for several boats, " you can get this boat and put a few thousand into her". We didn't buy a boat from him. Good luck in your search. Be patient, the right boat is out there for you.
