Soft and Supple Bellows

I've read a couple of post about boats sinking from leaking bellows. Would it be worth the effort to treat the bellows? To keep them soft and supple as a ________. Feel free to fill in the euphemism.

Yes, you should treat them to frequent replacement. I think 5 year intervals.

You can use silicone spray but difficult to get to all of the bellows.
