On this Thanksgiving Day, what (or who) are you thankful for? I'm going to start off with Niklaus Otto, Rudolph Diesel, and John D. Rockefeller. The first two gave us the gasoline and diesel internal combustion engines, while John D. built up the network of refineries and the petroleum product distribution system that makes oil-based fuels inexpensive and ubiquitous.

These inventions have enabled modern agriculture and transportation, allowing us a higher standard of living and the free time to enjoy our passion for boating.

Archimedes. Without him we'd all be sunk!

Great pictures Lt. Dan.!

I'm just thankful for Family and Friends! Yes that includes you Gary(Grin) Even if you like to give us little boaters a hard time. Now I have to get ready for my Bimini fling trip.

I'm thankful I don't live where I have to haul and winterize my boat every winter. :smt038

Thought I would share how my Thanksgiving was. My wife and I are in Finland while we wait for the court paperwork to be completed in Russia (St Petersburg) for the adoption of our new son Eli. For our thanksgiving we did not have turkey, but the woman we had dinner with yesterday was from Turkey. To make it more amusing, the other family there was from India. So I guess that would make us the Pilgrims to go with the Turkey and Indians. They thought we would be the cowboys, but we eventually got a good enough description of Thanksgiving for them to understand there weren't any cowboys there.

I am thankful for family and friends, being cancer free for the last 11 months and that I am lucky enough to have a job that I think will last thru the current times. Spent part of yesterday and today until the rain started putting up Christmas decorations outside. I may not get to finish since the rain is supposed to last thru the weekend.
