So, lets talk weather....

Yes it is off to a good start... I just hope they keep getting snow for the next 60 days like they have the past two week.
With the snowpack right now on the western slope it will only bring around 30 feet of run off to the lake in the spring and even though that will be welcomed it will not be enough to insure good lake levels in 2023. What we really need are back to back storms on the western slope of CO and on the west side of the continental divide in Wyoming and the temps to stay low to keep as much snowpack in the mountains as long as it can before April/May run off.
As of this last weekend we have 32ft under our slip. Bullfrog bay in some areas are down to about 15ft.

On a good water year we usually have around 80 ft under our slip at this time of year.

Park services and Airmark will decide in February if they will be moving all of Bullfrog slips, fuel dock, boat rentals, and pump out over to the Halls Crossing side of the lake. This will be a big undertaking and us at BullFrog dont want the move to happen as if the ferry is not back in operation it will add 1.5hour drive for us all.

I couldn't find any real time images of the bay. The first picture shows Bullfrog marina in the background and Halls Crossing in the foreground. This picture is of the elevation of the lake probably 80 ft up from real time today. The 2nd picture is a little more real time. What you cant see is that the average depth of Bullfrog bay is around 20 feet. Our slip is on the far end of all the slips and right now we are 100 yards from the land on the left side of the top picture.
I belong to a forum called Waynesword. It's all about Powell, and there's a lot of talk about the water level.
Every now and then pics get posted. Someone flys over and takes pics.

The front is going to make it's way through the US this weekend and we are looking at several different tracks for the storm. I hope we don't get dumped on again but one model has us getting 12" of snow Sunday into Monday. This winter is really starting to suck wind...

Maybe snow in ATL area Sat nite. If so, will be fun to watch folks try to drive in it....
Nothing like Seattle, I'd wager. When it does snow, it's a very heavy, wet snow, and, with the town built on a hillside, it's straight down into the Puget Sound for you!
Watch the wheels on the cars as they drift on by:

Fwiw…if having difficulty trying to stop a moving vehicle on a snow/ice covered surface, take the vehicle out of “drive”, into neutral and apply gradual braking. In the old days, we were told to “pump” the brakes. Now, a steady pressure to allow anti lock brakes to do their thing. (When activated, the anti lock system produces a chatter….it’s normal, do not release brake pressure).

Cold front hit NW Oklahoma this afternoon, 45 mph winds out of the north, no moisture. Was 60 degrees before the front hit, down to 8 in the morning.

Fifty degrees, partly sunny inland from San Francisco Bay, which coast was visited by a small Tsunami at 0730 today.
