In WWI and II men from the states would go to Canada or Britain to join the war against the Axis powers. Today I see ex military members going to Poland to crossover to the Ukrainian military.

So I’ve got to ask our members, would you go?

IF I was single and no kids I’d be gone already, bad heart and all. I’ve never been out of the Commonweath for more than a week. That’s just me tho.

It’s a solid question. If I was single, no kids and physically capable…it’s a fight worth fighting, imho.

I’m sure to be shouted down round here. But that’s MY opinion.

That’s an interesting question you pose. The Russians are really inciting this behavior with their callous disregard for ethical warfare, which is a result of their poor logistics, planning, and leadership. People around the world who were divided are now coming together to rally behind the Ukrainian people.

I think that a lot of Russia’s enemies at the grass roots level are coming out of the woodwork. This may have been further provoked by Russia calling on fighters from Chechnya and Islamic radicals to join them in fighting Ukraine. The blunders and desperation would be comical if Russia didn’t have so many nuclear weapons and a desperate sociopath for a leader.

If I was 40 years younger, you bet I would go. In a heart beat.

I heard a report of a Frenchman that had family ties to Ukraine that went to enlist his talents. He had significant military experience. When he read the contract, he was required to sign before being issued his fatigues and arms, he passed. Apparently, they require you to sign up for the duration of the conflict which of course is unknowable. He ended up passing on enlisting but hung around for a week or so to lend help in evacuating citizens. I guess the Ukrainians don't want to deal with a new form of tourist. I can imagine macho 20 somethings wanting to go Play Halo with real bullets but wanting to be evacuated back to the states when reality sets in.
I've got to say that I am in the no category. Not that it is not a worthy cause, but it is a problem that Europe along with weak US leadership created. It can be ended with some tough decisions and bold action that would be costly to most of the world for a while but done right could put an end to Putin's ambitions for ever.
I feel for the Ukrainians but a 60 year old with an AR and a set of fatigues ain't gonna be much help. Similar to why I don't donate 11 bucks a month to starving children in Africa really.

Amen. They seem to be all about the sanctions while still buying oil and gas from Putin...
