Scott's post about sums it up. I spotted this bumper sticker this weekend:

I'll keep my guns, money and freedom. You can keep "The Change."

My employer is looking to save money all over the place, including lay offs and furloughs (of which I would be a casuality) and it is a direct result of the Obama economic plan. So Mr. Obama can take his "hope" and "change" and shove it where the sun does not shine. (I "hope" I made my feelings about Obama abundently clear, but if not.....he can kiss my a!#*@*^%&!%*)
He won't know unless you communicate your feelings directly to him, send him a copy of your post.

Scott, send him a copy of this. Maybe he'll get a good idea.

Great form letter from those bosses who have to make the hard decision at this difficult time:

LETTER FROM THE BOSS......

As the CEO of this organization, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barack Obama is our President and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases, our prices would have to increase by about 10%.
But since we cannot increase our prices right now due to the dismal state of the economy, we will have to lay off six of our employees instead. This has really been bothering me, since I believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who would have to go.

So, this is what I did. I walked through our parking lot and found six 'Obama' bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the ones to let go. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem. They voted for change, and I gave it to them.

I will see the rest of you at the annual company picnic.

Best regards,
Frank C

That has crossed my mind if I need to lay anyone off, I won't need to look for bumper stickers to make my choice.

Awesome! Im glad political affiliation is more important than the work someone does within a company. It is also a HUGE lawsuit waiting to happen.

I truly hope that letter is just a joke.

Or you can just lay off the women w/ the smallest cans! :wow:

Change ... Change for change sake is simply dumb and was inspired by a leftist media and restless youth who haven't a clue about making things work because WE their parents gave them a pampered life.

Te change people voted for is not the change they are getting, not by a long shot. Troops to be in Iraq for 10 more years, troop build up in Afganistan, NK going nutso, Venezeula and Bolivia going nutso, Congress assaulting every aspect of our constitutionaly guarranteed freedoms with radical bills working through the processes. Yes, free speech, right of assembly, right for political dissent, right to own fire arms and the list goes on and on including an outright assualt on States rights.

Change to socialism and away from capitialism, tax away all the wealth in the land, alienate our friends, and encourage our nations enemies and detractors, nationalize our largest businesses and strip away our bill of rights ... Yup thats Change alright.

Can we resurrect Reagan?

After taking a 20% paycut for the past year and no new work to pursue, my company is actually seeing proposal requests for architectural/engineering services taking off like a bat out of hell. Most of the requests are from the Feds, but we're also seeing a lot of requests from local municipalities. Even some of our private sector clients are starting to open up. Most of this is attributable to the Recovery and Reinvestment Act passed by Congress.

We've been selected for a couple of projects, so I get to go back to full salary and finally afford gas for the boat just in time!! :smt038

I doubt it. If you have ANY money to spend, now is the time to do it. Taxes will be up and government regulation will be up in the near future. The short "boom" you are seeing is known as "gettin' while the gettin' still good". Now is not the time to be a producer in this society. Both companies and individuals are putting it on cruise control until we can see if this idiocy will continue. I think the 2010 mid term elections are going to be interesting. We'll get to see how many of us want to slam on the brakes before we are too far gone...

I'm waiting to see when Texas or Montana secedes from the socialist movement we see. As for now, I hope I avoided the national tax by buying a new 320! Hope I don't have to lay anyone off to afford it
People will always have teeth.

Exactly, what you want to do at this point in time, is get what gettin' you can, then lose your job, so you can't pay for your house, then the rest of the folks that still have jobs can pay for that, your healthcare and your car too. That's the way to do it. So, what we all need to do, is strive to NOT do well.

Oh yeah, and I "hope" my attorney can figure out a way to get our 380k back from the bank that decided they would remove it from the checking account. I'm left here living on pocket "change" assholes!! Thanks a lot.

Never ever ever ever ever ever hold an account, business or personal, with a large sum of money at a bank who you also have business loans with.

Here's a little info on the "Change" that is coming our way:

My wife and I were talking about doing a REFI on our mortgage to see if we could drop the rate some. So I filled out an app to get some bids in on our refi. I get a call yesterday from a bank, Grainger Financial I believe, who tells me they can certianly drop my rate as much as 2% but they need to ask me a few questions. The lady proceeds to tell me about a mortgage modification offered through Fannie Mae and the goverments new programs. She asks me if we are current on our mortgage and I answer "of course". Well she stops talking and says to me in her most "loan shark" like tone, " you will need to stop paying your mortgage for 2 months to Countrywide and receive a notice from them before we can move you forward with the rate reduction"

I was like "What??" So you are asking me to become past due on my mortgage to qualify for a refi??:wow:

So much for just paying your bills!! Pretty soon we will be treated like lepers! (GRIN):smt013:smt009

Ain't it the truth! I got "denied" by John Deere to buy a new mower @ 12months- no interest. But, USAA approved my loan for the new boat. Go figure. I can't pay a $2000 loan, but I can pay for a new 320DA, which I hope gets put in the water TODAY!!! :smt038
