56, It would have been interesting to have compared the same poll from 10 years ago to today. I've noticed not as many 20 to 40 year olds are boating, as when I was in that age group.

I think it's a money thing. We've helped a few young families get into boating. It's hard finding a reasonably priced boat, in good condition, that's going to be economical for them to run. Back in the days when we were in our 20's, a young couple with trades or certifications under their belts could live quite well. Now the same couple would be struggling just to make ends meet. Of course, back then, there wasn't Starbucks, and drive thru restaurants, and plasma TV's, and computer games, and multiple vehicle families, and vacations abroad, and Easter breaks in Mexico, and multy screen theatres, and ethnic eateries of all kinds, and and and....... Maybe it IS just a matter of choice. Boating is still probably one of the most physically and mentally healthy activities around.

34.....wow when you put it on the screen it feels old

Try switching those two numbers around and ADDING 20 !!!!!!!! Sometimes I feel as if I belong in a museum instead of a Sea Ray.

So if you are 35 or 50 what group do you vote in?

IMHO, I'd say that if you are a day over 50 1/2 then yer in the geezer club. If yer a day over 35 1/2 you can stay in the puppie club.

If yer a day UNDER 35 1/2 then yer gonna be in the first category.

All this, of course, is only my opinion. I hate working the 8-5 shift 'cause I still wake up at 5 AM and have nothing to do but offer useless comments and advice on the Sea Ray forum. C'mon warm weather.

I am 77. I think I am the winner ! I forgot - what did I win ?

That explains why with this long and hard winter I'm feeling physically and mentally Un-healthy.
It's not age; I just need to get back to boating.

And dads 16' StarCraft Jupiter with and Evinrude I grew up on is was different that today's 'entry level' boats. And if you buy one you are looked down upon because you can't 'afford' to boat. Gotta have a 25'+ that goes 50 mph with a stereo you can hear three miles away .

We're 60 and 62 -- both July birthdays. As long as we can push and pull each other up to the flybridge, we'll be boating.

Congratulations Henry. I hereby nominate you "KING of the geezer club". I'll step down. There are quite a few elderly folks at our yacht club. Some of them are even too elderly to actually go out, but they will just sit there on there boats. It's really sad when they reach the age that they can't make it down there any more and have to sell. There's been a few lately. I think there should be a "variety club" type boating event for the elderly, kinda like we do for the blind fishing derby and the disabled kids' treasure hunts.

Byte me kiddo

I'll be 59 this year... but most of my friends are in their 40's and we all act like we're 20 when we get together! :smt038

57 in April. And I can still out work most anybody younger. Don't want to, that's why I'm the boss.

wife 70, second in command (me) 74.

Not only did I watch Cmd. Alan Shepard and Col. John Glenn launch from Cape Canaveral with my own eyes, I can still remember it. And of course when they both flew again along with all the other great American's of the US Space Program who left us in proud shape....uh, what happened?

The house I live in now was built for space workers in '56 and so was I...will probalby crumbled together as well.
