Boat Info
1999 260 Sea Ray Bowrider
Engines
7.4 Mercruiser
I have an older (1999) Sea Ray 260 Bowrider. Like my boat, the owner (Me) is older too. I want to add snap Davits on the swim platform so I can keep the dinghy out of the water. I want to do this mainly while the boat is on the boat lift at the condo complex where I live. Moving the dinghy to the storage place is a hike and I am getting up there in age. At times I will take the dinghy with me when boating.

Here is the problem.

The Sea Ray 260 has an intragraded swim platform and I do not believe I. can reach to get the nuts on the bolts to hold the brackets on. Anyone ever put snap davits on an intragraded swim platform than may be able to help or suggest a way to get it done?

Thank you you in advance.

Dale

Weaver sells a toggle anchor for just such a situation.

I build a backing plate with the holes threaded of the Weaver hole pattern and used a stick of welding rode welded on to the bracket.
On this Carver I accually well a 1/4 socket to the home made backing plate and used a long 1/4 drive exstention. Work sweet.

Thank you very much. I was hoping someone would know. I will order these asap.

Here it is on my Carver. I did the same thing to my Sea Ray but used a piece of welding rod. Welded the rod onto the bracket and broke it off when install. Lot better than just nuts and washers. If I was in salt water I would use Stainless steel instead of carbon steel.
