Spent the weekend with the admiral and swabs at Solomons, had a great time, but on the return to VA we noticed a disturbing situation entering Smiths Point. There seems to be a pretty good sand bar across the mouth of the Smith Point jetty. I thought the depthsounder had gone on the blink when we came back in yesterday, and that was at high tide. You could see it clearly. Does anyone who uses it regularly have any tips for safe access? With the swirling current there I'd hate to have a problem.
