Ive got a 2006 48 Sundancer. Yesterday had the boat out with gen and ac running all day. Today I returned to the boat and the cabin smells odd, can't put a finger on what it is but its not good. Boat is hooked up to shore power and ac is running. Almost smells like it could be coming from the duct work. But again not sure. Any thought would help. Thanks

Dirty or clogged filter at the air intake for the A/C?

Skunky ac pan. Clogged condensate drain?

Although the drain pan for our aft AC didn't smell, it was overflowing. The drain fitting was high and dry so I shimmed up one side of the pan to level out the water that the drain pan was holding. The pan was still holding water and not draining. It originally drained to my forward bilge pump area, but I extended that drain line years ago to my aft bilge pump area. I disconnected that coupling and the water from the AC drain pan began to flow. I then got out our wet/dry shop vac out, reversed the hose and blew out the section of hose that drained to the back of the boat. That quickly cleared the clog and I reinstated the coupling to allow the condensate to freely flow to my aft bilge pump area.

Check every blige access area for water. Sometimes either rain water or overflow from ac drain pans will end up in areas that don't drain and the water will turn rancid, take boat out for a ride and shake it up and it will easily stink up the cabin.
