Hello All,

I have a 2006 38DA with the Smartcraft sc5000 and integrated dual Northstar NAV screens.

About a year ago, after replacing one of the starting batteries, we started to have intermittent problem(s). Initially, underway, we'd have a drop off of the analog gauges and then they'd come right back. In heavy weather one day, we lost the gauges and the readout on the SC5000 for about 15 minutes. Most recently we lost the left NAV screen with a check cable notice. Ugh.

We have checked all connections behind the dash and they were tight etc. Any of you have any thoughts experience to cut the troubleshooting time?

Many thanks!

My 330 had a blade fuse on the batteries for the smart craft and gauges. Your loose connection may be on the battery itself.

Well that was expensive....

Tech spent countless hours going through scenarios and ended up finding a bad PCM/ECM on the port engine. When moving part to the starboard engine, hiccups followed. Makes sense as data from engines feeds Smartcraft and gauges - seems to be an intermittent power interrupt with the module that causes the issue.
