Twin Merc 5.0 MPI w Bravo III Drives
Did my first shakedown cruise today. I thought the GPH numbers were for both engines but the estimated range looked to about half of what I thought it would show. Had lots of fluctuations with the float in the tanks. Way off of what I expected. I have the twin Merc 5.0 MPI 260 HP with B III outdrives. Test data indicated I should get 1.4 to 1.5 MPG. I am not seeing that in numbers displayed today. Both engines have been recently serviced before I bought the boat. Not sure what to think.

WOT on my 2006 300da, same engines same drives, about 13KLbs, is about 16.5gph per engine for a top speed of about 35kts

Just saw this and thought I'd let you know that I never have gotten better than 1 GPH. I burn 23 gallons per hour when cruising at about 23 MPH. I have 1060 hours on my engines, but my MPG hasn't changed since I've owned the boat.
