I am in the process of buying a 2017 SLX-X 230.

Any tips on winterizing this boat?

The boat will be in a slip on the lake. Nice days I want to us the boat but want to make sure I winterize it properly.

1st welcome, show us a picture of that new boat!

As far as winterizing, need some more information, what engine you have and where you are located. Winterizing can be as easy as using the the quick drain system (if you have one) for milder climates where you are protecting from the occasional cold snap between uses, to a full on winter storage with fogging and filling with anti-freeze in northern climates where the boat will sit unused for several months in sub-freezing temperatures.

6.2 Mercruiser with V drive - it is the wake/surf boat.

I am in Texas - outside Dallas. I plan on storing it on a lift in my dock. I could pull it and put in a barn but I like the idea of having it ready to go at the lake house anytime I want.

We did have a couple days of 12 degrees this winter so far.

Thanks,
D.

Not sure -there is a place on the back top of the engine to put air in but supposedly there are other places. I will see the boat on TH - going to take it for a spin. I'll see if the guys in the shop can show me. I have yet to take delivery or drive it - but man I can't wait.

Just caught the SLX-W as in Wake, nice! So is this your private dock? I used to keep my boat at our lake house here in NC. I never really winterized it, I had power at the dock, so I would leave the boat on the lift and put a BoatSafe heater in the bilge. Then during the really cold months Jan-Feb I would still leave the heater in it, but also pull the 5 drain plugs on the manifolds and block to drain the water out. I would bet that engine has the quick drain system, so with that and a heater you would be in good shape I would think.

Yes it is my own dock.

I will have power there.

Is BoatSafe a particular heater?

I will know more on Thursday after I drive it and hopefully can talk to one of the guys in the shop.

Thanks,
D.

Also, the boat will be on a HydroHoist lift. So, not in the water.

Boatsafe is a heater that is safe and designed to use in a boat engine room where there could be gasoline vapors. There are a couple of other brands.
