Let’s see your pictures of how you have decorated or modified your slip to be the oasis you enjoy! Looking to get some ideas here and see the creativity from our CSR group.

Here was our slip at Lake Texoma. It was nice but many in our dock house were far more elaborate, even with full dockominiums.

Nice setup. A friend of mine used to have a dockominium with the living quarters on the second floor. Great setup if a person lives in the city. They would make the hour drive, then stay for several days at a time.

We boated on Lake Lewisville for a few years, lots of nice slip "relaxation" areas, but no dockominiums. But then we were only 15-20 minutes from the house.

Effectively how we used it but slept in the boat. You can actually kinda see a second story docko in the background. We had some monster great times on that dock over the years but over time things changed.

OP, are you asking about minor or major ways of improving your dock? What limitations does your marina place on you?

You may want to add either your specific or general location to your signature or avatar detail. That'll really help people give you appropriate responses going forward.

We weren't allowed to do any mods to the slip so we decorated the boat. The plus to that is when we left the slip, the decorations came with us. The Christmas season was always fun. We would spend a week or so decorating for the lighted boat parade. Being a Seahawk fan I built a 24' long by 6' tall Seahawk with rope lighting. In 2020 we took first place in the parade.

They definitely do things BIG in Texas. Some of these slips are just insane. Where I originally started boating on the East Coast, there was nothing on the docks. I moved to Texas and thought wow they provide cover, that is great! When I showed up and saw these massive bars and build outs, I was completely blown away! I have a small table and chair setup plus a dock box. It's the smallest setup on the dock! Lol!

Very cool!!! The night pic is awesome. Our marina has a policy that if you build on it becomes property of the marina when you leave so I get that. We will probably only be adding items we can take with us because we eventually plan to move to another slip in a more desirable area of the marina. We are on a waiting list but you have to be a slip holder to even get on that list.

I think we are going to start with some patio furniture and a dock box and go from there. The startup cost is insane to do it all. Also finding the time is hard, who wants to be constantly working on the slip instead of enjoying the boat? I’d hire some of it out but finding anyone to do it seems impossible.

Good to know I’ll add that detail to my profile. There are not any restrictions per day but there is a policy that If it’s “attached” it becomes property of the marina if/when you leave.

We are looking for some ideas for a bar, food prep area, fridge/wine cooler, and a sink. Definitely some additional storage and comfy seating.
