Simrad SD Card Reader

Hello, we have a 2018 SDX 250. The simrad says there's software upgrades available, but because its a large upgrade an sd card is needed. Where is the SD Card Reader and how do we access it?

Just upgraded the software. I have the Go5 2017 on my 24DC Nautic Starr Depth finder stopped working. The upgrade did the trick. For the Go5 its on the back bottom under the rubber protective plug. Look at your manual - it will show you where the Micro SD location is. I actually called Simrad support and they sent me the upgrade file. I just downloaded it to the card and then placed it in the unit while off . You just turn it on and it loads automatically. Good luck

Thanks Jeff! It doesn’t look like there’s an easy way to remove the simrad from the dash to access the back. I would’ve though there would be some sort of SD extension From the simrad that would be accessible from the panel in the head. Or maybe there is and I can’t find it?

Same issue. Better if you remove from the front. Pop off the front trim. Simply snaps off. I did the same and accessed the card slot by pulling the unit forward rather than from the rear which was very had to gain the access.
