We planned a European river cruise from Lucerne to Amsterdam as a celebration of the end of the Covid pandemic. We started making planes in November 2020 for a cruise date for July of 2021. In January when news of spikes around the world were growing we decided to post pone the trip to 2022, we have yet to pick a date. I am so glad we postponed because even if we were okay with the mask wearing for the airplane trip across the pond, which we are not, we would have been screwed due to the historic level of river flooding in the very region we would be sailing thru! That would have been a very stressful and crappy way to spend a vacation. We even splurged and bought the best cabin on the boat right on the upper deck forward with a corner suite! We can only hope that we can enjoy the same trip next year. We have done similar trips in the past and were blessed with perfect weather both times.
