Fixing to start my second season with this beautiful boat 84 Sundance 260!

I have a very silly question. In all the descriptions I read that this dinette table folds down to a sleeping birth. For the life of me I can't figure it out. We have never had a use for it but I was just cleaning up the inside of the boat and thought I had no clue how to do this.

It doesn't twist and I see no way to fold it down. Please tell me how easy this is  IMG_1645.jpg

Not sure on your yr. and model, but often the base removes from the table (can be "stuck" and need coaxing)

The table then drops down to bridge the area between the seats......add filler cushions.

That's how mine works!

When I got my boat, that table was really jammed onto the post. Took quite a bit of effort to get it free.

The post is supposed to come out like the OP said and the table will fit in the space between the dinette seats. Spray some WD-40 on the connections where the post fits into the floor and also where the post fits the table and start working it back and forth if you can, and that should work it loose.

Thats about what I figured.... but I really cranked on it and it didn't move. I will try it again though. Thanks guys!

I had the stuck table post in my cockpit. This is what worked for me.

Get a can or two of aerosol keyboard cleaner. Turn it upside down. Spray it into/around the base where the pole inserts to the stand. The cleaner will come out as a liquid stream. Wiggle the pole in a circular motion while pulling up. Repeat until the pole and base break loose. The cold liquid "shrinks" both metals and allows you to get a bit of "wiggle room" to break the connection.

After you break it loose, clean both parts well. Sand any corrosion off. Coat with dielectric grease or some other corosion inhibitor.

HTH.

So... We did the WD40 but used the table top (tightly secured to the underneath) as the lever and was able twist and pull up. But it’s damn tight. Heading to Fishier supply tomorrow to find some sort or grease so it’s not so darn tight.

Don't use any grease on it. You will end up with s mess on your hands. Do a good clean up with some WD40 and call it a day. As you use it, it will work better.
