Ok, Am I brain dead or what?
I figured out the Avatar thing. But I have not been able to create the Signature pic.....

I looked at the FAQ's but it seems I need to upload from a website.
Give me a clue.

You need to host the pic on a web server such as photobucket and then add the URL to the pic with the

Its best just to use the avatar anyway. Signature pictures really plug up the system. Most sites don't allow them, they make the page loads a lot longer for the users. I don't really mind people using them at all, but the longer load times can be a pain for everybody. Your boat is already in the virtual marina, people can click on the link under your avatar to see your boat if they want to.

This crowd is pretty "picture intensive". The old board probably threw in the towel because of the 2 terabytes of pictures we all posted.... and since all that data is gone, I am sure we will see the "Post your favorite dog picture" or "picture of the dumbest underwear you ever wore" types of things.

Get READY!!!!

How does one add the web link like Fours Suns has under their member name on the left? Looks like a link to "byowner"?

Ok tried uploading the link to pics I have on Shutterfly.....but it doesn't come out....So I'll abide by Admin's request to leave a large pic off the signature for now. :smt101

i think that if you CHOOSE to partake in the virtual marina thingy, you cannot have a sig pic. i had my sig pic up there and now that i signed on with virtual marina, my sig pic doesnt come up anymore. guess you cant have your cake and eat it too.

if your sig pic is stored off-site, than it doesnt take up any web space. if it is huge, it'll only slow up the page loading. it has been my experience that most people are pretty considerate about file size and when they arent, the moderators ask politely that they tone it down a few notches.

ok, i'm back to edit this post. seems when i posted this message, my sig pic is BACK. go figure. so disregard what i just said above. SORRY!

Todd,

I am not really sure but I think it may be that the picture is not a JPEG. You may want to resave as JPEG and see if that corrects the problems. Good luck with it.

ok, i put a post up on some other topic and the sig pic didnt work. so i came back here to put a "test" message up, and the sig pic is back. go figure???

It looks like whenever you put a attachment in your post your sig pic disappears, or when you edit your post...

Maybe not...... it's ghosting here :smt101

Yes, it is the attachment that kill the Signature. Adim is working on it.

ok, explain this one! i put up a post with an attached picture and the signature pic doesnt come up. no problem. i expected this. the very next post i put up in another forum (with NO attachment) also came up with no signature.

so i head over to the "TEST" forum and put up a nonsensical post and, there's the signature. weird. maybe it takes time for the affect of an attachment to "wear off??"

hey, my signature's back!
