Seems the po took out the sump box ,but where it was is my question .You would have to remove the shower base to remove it from under the bath which involves removing the whole lower half of the bathroom.Do any of you think it could have been located under the stairs as there is a hole cut out in the stringer next to the shower under the steps?Just seems to small an area and there isnt anywhere else unless they just used a direct pump back in 86.Would searay have plumbed it through the wall to a pump and then out the side? There is a switch that says shower on it in the bath and it runs a pump somewhere just not sure where ,and there isnt any hose fit to the drain in the shower.

My 87 Sundancer, which is very similar, has the shower sump located under a lift up panel in the floor of the cabin. It's located outside the door to the head, slighly aft of the door.
There is no "box", it just drains in to this space and there is a pump in there with a float switch. This is an original set-up, as there is a cutout built in to the hull in that area to hold the pump.
The switch in the head is also for that pump. You can activate the pump with either that switch, or the float switch.
I don't know if your's is the same, but I hope this points you in the right direction.

The 88 300 Weekender that I owned had the shower drain pump located below the removable step leading to the cockpit, the raw water strainer for the head was also beneath the step.

Ok thanks i know there is a bilge pump under the steps i didnt know it was for the shower .Should there be a hose from the drain through that hole in the stringer then? I would think so that would keep gray water from setting under the shower stall .

There may be a molded tube in the stinger to allow water to drain down the hull to the sump. My '89 300DA uses this molded hole concept for the shower drain as well as the AC condensate.

I guess i will pull the strainer in the shower and see if i can hook up a drain hose as i dont like the soap residue to built up and give anythink a place to grow uckkkk.I dont think even the smallest of sump boxes will fit under the steps because of the two through hulls in there, one for a/c one for the head intake, and then the bilge pump also.Ill try to remember to take pics and post later .my boat went in the shop to have all the thru hulls reinstalled yesterday so i wont have access untill next weekend.Damn!! Ive been up for 2 hrs and am bored already.

Mine did not have a hose, drain in shower dumped right onto the inside of the hull and drained to the pump
