shower sump pump

well its not exactly the pump, does anybody know why I get water in the compartment surrounding the shower sump pump? Where is the water coming from?
I have a 99 270 Sundancer with the same problem. I have to use a wet vac every week to get the water out of the bilge area under my cabin stairway. I am considering taking the sump box out and installing a bilge pump as low as I can in that area. I will keep the a/c and shower drain screen filter inline to avoid clogging the bilge pump. Has anyone ever eliminated the sump box ?

Instead of removing the sump box, could you just add in a bilge pump? If you ever use the shower or have AC, it's better to have those dump into a more contained area in order to pump it out more quickly.

Does your sump box not already have a pump in it? How would it drain out? I used to get somw water occasionally under the steps in my 260DA where the sump box was installed when the box overflowed for one reason or another. If you already have a pump then the box should clear itself out.

I pour a mixture of water and Clorox down the shower drain once a week to keep the scum and mold out of the box. I cleaned the box out with Spray 9 yesterday for the first time this year and it really cleaned the inside of the box. It is something that you have to monitor and clean every once and a while just like checking on your batteries.

I had this issue for years. Do you shower on the boat and if so, do you use a bar of soap versus shower gel? I switched to shower gel and haven’t had an issue since. The bar soap would clog up the sump pump and cause overflow and a warning alarm m

We did the same.
