My shower head in the 340 sundancer is very weak. The water pressure is normal but the design is poor. Is there a replacement head that can be used.

Thanks

It just might be plugged up. Every showerhead and hose I've seen has a screen either in the head itself or in the hose to trap refuse from the water tank. You might want to check before deciding you need a new showerhead.

If your boat is new, it could be construction debris. If it's not new it could be sand or minerals from well water or some other less than pristene supply. Chances are it will go away if you clean the screen at the shower head. You may want to take a look at the screen between the pump and the water tank for a similar condition.

I think I did check it last year. There seems to be plenty of water flow when it is used as a sink faucet, but when you flip the lever over to a spray the design of the holes doesn't deflect the water so there is any pressure.

I think the part is not grohe but Skansk(something like that).

Any other thoughts or replacements?

David

David - Since pressure is a result of resistance to flow, either the holes in the shower head have been bored out :smt017 or the little ball has something plugging it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked today on the boat, it is a Grohe faucest. The head with the ball deflector is not clogged and the holes are all opened.

Is there a screen of some kind in the base of the arm where you need two wrenches to take apart?

Thanks again,

David

Mine has a metal pin like off/on valve near inlet thread...maybe there is something stuck in there :smt017 I've never unthreaded the head from the hose...maybe there is a screen in there not sure.

3 ideas:

1) On some shower heads, you can pull/push the coller at the spray head to change from a solid stream of water <like for sink use> to a spray for the shower. See if you have that, if so, be sure the collar is pulled.pushed all the way to either direction.

2) As mentioned above, usually there is a shut off valve at the shower head handle to shut off the water to save watar, without having to shut off and adjust water temp at the faucet. Be sure it is fully opened and not clogged

3) Follow the hose from the shower head back to the underside of the faucet. I''ll bet your hose is getting kinked when you pull it out to use as a shower

Thanks for the reply. It appears that there isplenty of water in the shower head. I believe it is a bad design because there seems to be too many holes and the holes are to big to create and kind of forces. I am calling Skandvik and see if they have a replacement.

Thanks again.

David
