Show us what you do, stuff you make

You could've left the American Flag up and eliminated the other 2 poles. Problem solved!

Starting out I worked in the restaurant industry. Moved on to working at a scrap yard, irrigation, and detailing vehicles. Wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. Became a supervisor at a fortune 100 company after a year of being a “work lead”. After three years dealing with a boss that liked to micro manage my employees from his desk I decided it was time for a change. I now work for a municipality as a power plant operator. Small combined cycle, producing around 130MW with a handful of off site peaking units. Couldn’t be happier and can’t complain about the pay.

My company is on the high tech side. We design and verify custom microchips (ASICs, FPGAs, etc.). We also have a smallish software team that specializes in machine vision, deep learning, artificial intelligence. Cool stuff that I know only enough about to be dangerous, as they say! Luckily I have smart people to do the real thinking...

I got out of the USAF in 1976 and got a job as a cop in a mid-size town in WA. Did that for 15 years before getting burned out on it. Took a job in management with a car and RV dealer (all my college was in Bus Admin). Did that for 10 years and decided I didn't like working for an owner who I caught in a huge lie. Quit that job and thought I'd take the summer off. Three weeks later a friend suggested I talk to a friend of his who managed a financial advisory firm. I did and was hired. Took the tests (series 6, 7, 50-something) and passed all.

Got my licenses and did that for about 11 years then retired. That was the best job I think I'd ever had.

I'm a rep for an outside plant fiber optic cable manufacturer, as well as splicing components & infrastructure, that support the telecommunications industry. Chances are, some, if not all, of those components I rep are in your neighborhood broadband network.

I was a tile setter for 24 years. Owned my own sales & installation business for 15 of those years. Finally retired in February. I don't miss it! Full time boating from here on out!

I work for MSC Industrial Supply and we are very involved in the Metal Working Tooling world.

Ok. Since you named names... I am the National Sales Manager for Regal Cutting Tools.

My daughter is in the process of getting her licenses. She currently works for a financial planning company and passed the first 2 tests of the 3 to get her Series 60/63 or something. She said the test series has changed recently or something but she said after she passes the next one she can put a bunch of acronyms after her name....lol. She is planning on taking the CFP soon too (Certified Financial Planner). She is 24 and likes her toys so hope she does well with it...lol. She already owns 3 houses, a 2016 Wrangler Sahara she bought new and a 2007 Sebring work car but just got off the phone with her and she is looking at Maseratis....ugh

former Sr designer for Stanley Black and decker

currently ... something for a large defense contractor and thats all ill say about that

After spending a couple years in secondary education, I decided the manufacturing engineering world offered a better career. I bounced around for a few years among different companies before landing in the Detroit area and American Motors. Once there, I managed to survive the Chrysler merger, the Daimler merger, the Cerberus purchase, bankruptcy and finally the creation of Fiat Chrysler from which I retired in 2015.

As a side note, the economy is cranking. Both of my kids (25 &27) have 100K a year jobs with great benefits.

aint that the truth! if you dont have a job currently... you just dont want one! we have over 100 open rec's currently across engineering alone. that doesnt include everything else here. we have everything aerospace engineers to janitors positions open.
