Probably. The dollar is nearly worthless today. I checked some currency exchange rates earlier today. A Canadian dollar, for the first time that I can ever recall, buys more than one U.S. dollar. And the Fed keeps printing money...

The ignorant masses are diverted by trivialities, like the Arizona thing.

I did see an interview on the subject of this article with an interesting take.

Few expect any change in world monetary acceptance of the dollar as the standard but in international competition they will saber rattle. As for our debt to China and our imports from there, they too have trade imbalances with much of the rest of the world for the raw material etc. to create what we import. It appears the entire world is interconnected, they need us to buy their products as much as we seem to need them, and so do the other countries they do business with.

In some ways I wonder if countries are behaving more like our states, in competition with each other economically, rather than militarily, other than rogues like North Korea or Iran etc.

I saw bunch of pictures of "a show of force" of some of China's military and it was quite impressive. I just hope their tanks, planes and ships are made of the same inferior crap metal they send us for everything!
