I am looking at buying this prop listed, "new" and just thought this may be a new, but bad prop.
What do you guys and gals think? Should I buy and paint or is the paint hiding corrosion? I am a totally new to boating. Thanks! They are selling for $25 no hub

Definitely not new. In the first picture you can clearly see a ding on the leading edge. For $25 though I can’t see how you can lose. Just make sure there are no hidden cracks if you can inspect this in person. Clean it up and paint it.

The seller said he just wants it out of the way and knows nothing about it. I would think he fished this out of the lake the way it looks haha.
Thanks for the input so far. So far no one is worried about the corrosion?

The corrosion doesn’t look like it is anything to worry about for $25. Just use a wire brush and clean it up then paint it.

Sounds good, I decided to buy it. Thanks everyone!!

Brand new, just stored in the back yard for 15 years. HAHA

I would buy that one, then send out to have the ding fixed. They clean and paint them like new when doing a repair.
They are as good as a new one when done.

Be a bunch less $$$$ than a new one.

He was asking $40, but come on it's clearly a defect in the paint. That baby is every bit as new as the day he left it in a barrel of water 10 years ago!
