I bought '05 220 select with original Shoreland'r trailer but
the brakes are out of order. There were no fluid inside the sistem, so I take it all down. The cylindar and solenoid works fine.

Which brake fluid to use?

What is the purpose of metal wire that goes from cylindar outside and in the other end has small hook?

I'll have picture in a few minutes...

I'm thinking the metal wire with the hook is your break away cable. If the trailer broke away or became unhooked from the tow vehicle the wire would trip the trailer brakes system and the trailer would stop.

As to the fluid, I thought you just used normal hydraulic brake fluid.

The wire with the "S" is for the break away. in case the trailer unhooks from the tow vehicle. Use regular break fluid for the entire break system.

Here is the "S" thing, I supose it goes around the hook.
What about this buton left from the "S"
I use DOT4 sae70
Brakes are working now, rust came off right away.
There is a difference between now and then, but I'm not
satisfied with brake force.
