Never really used this on my boat before since we really haven't been at a marina full time. Anyway, do you need to have the fresh water pump running to get decent pressure? Does the hose bypass the fresh water tank?

Yes, the shore water bypasses the water tank and goes directly into the distribution manifold. (This is how it works on the 280 and up, I would think the 260 is the same)

I've used the water pump in conjunction with city water when taking showers. Keep in mind that it really isn't boosting the pressure, but rather making up for pressure shortfalls in the city water. (It's all pressure based, and which ever source has the higher pressure wins) Also keep in mind that if the water pump is running, it is drawing from the freshwater tank, so you will eventually empty it. (Water will continue to flow from the faucet if city water is connected as the city water pressure now being greater will be the source)

Perfect....i was wondering about the pressure ....:

Thank you...

I was "limping" by using the same method as Scott had suggested, but later (after reading more in to this) I had thought that city water pressure should be fine I've replaced the mixing valve (I think that's what it's called) in the stern locker and sure enough the issue was fixed. I no longer had to run the water pump to provide extra pressure. If I recall, it was about $40+ part.

Scott,

I know what you mean about city water pressure. I don't know what ours is set to, but I'm sure mine is slightly reduced, b/c I'm using 4-way splitter where each valve has 3/8-1/2" (not sure exactly) openning.

In the past I always mentained the screen with Lime Away, but then noticed no difference. I ordered my mixer from MM, so it's the same as the original and I didn't bypass anything. It worked like a charm all of the last season. Easy fix for $40.
